MEMORIZE TODAY
''And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness; God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory." (I Timothy 3:16)

THE GREAT MYSTERY
Paul announces that, ''. ..great is the mystery of godliness ...'' Do you not marvel that the sovereign, omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God of the universe has condescended to enter into a personal  relationship  with  mortal  men? Think of it.   This eternal God took on the flesh of men.  It is awesome to consider that it was actually God lying in a feeding trough in a primitive cave in the shepherd's fields of Bethlehem.  The prophets have told us that it would happen in that very place and it did.  God became man in order that man might become like God.
Consider the amazing fact that the Spirit of God would overshadow the virgin Mary that she might conceive and bear the Son of God. Consider that same Spirit anointed His earthly work and witness. It was that same Holy Spirit that ministered to Him in Gethsemane and sustained Him at Golgotha. That same Holy Spirit raised Him from the dead. (Romans 8:11; I Peter 3:18)
He was indeed seen by angels.  They sensed His sorrow in Gethsemane, surveyed His suffering at Golgotha, and saw His stopover in the grave. The songwriter said: He could have called ten thousand angels, To destroy the world and set Him free, But He died alone for you and for me.
It was an unbelievable thing to the First Century Jews that the Messiah of God would be preached among the Gentiles. He came into his own things and His own people received Him not. The mystery was that many among the Gentiles indeed received Him for the forgiveness of sins.
A great number of people believed His Word and said ''yes'' to Jesus.  Some of them were willing to pay with their lives for this One who loved them and gave Himself for them. Angels stood by as the followers of Jesus stood gazing up into Heaven, watching their beloved Master as He was taken up before their very eyes. The angels said, ''You men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing into heaven? This same Jesus will so come in the same manner you have seen Him go away." (Acts 1:11) Think of it! He did all of this for you. No wonder Paul wrote to Timothy - ''Great is the mystery of godliness."

PRAY FOR THE WORLD
We continue to pray for India. It would take a volume much larger than this entire book to even begin to explore the religions of India (Hindu is most prominent, but certainly not the total picture), the Caste System, and the more than 13 million gods who are in India. It has always been a thrilling experience for me to go to India. We praise God for Christianity's 2,000 years in India since the arrival of the Apostle Thomas in Southern India. The State of Kerala is where most historians say that Thomas went ashore. It is, by far, the most Christian of all the states of India. In the past 20 years, the Christian presence, representing  all the world's main Christian traditions, is at last beginning to be visible as an indigenous component to the mainstream of Indian life.
Pray for God's protection upon those who speak out for Him and face severe persecution. As we graduate young men and women from our RHEMA Institute, it is amazing to me that they have such excitement, knowing that they are going to places where they will be persecuted and many of them will be martyred . Pray for the church planters, pastors, and evangelists all over India who are making a difference. They follow in the tradition of Thomas who gave his life for the Savior

A WORD FOR YOUR WORLD TODAY
''Do not we rest in our day too much on the energy of the flesh? Cannot the same wonders be done now as of old? Do not the eyes of the Lord still run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those who put their trust in Him?''
James Gilmour of Mongolia
