“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (Timothy 6: 10)
It is important to note that money is not the root of all evil. In the world system, money or its equivalent is essential for existence and livelihood in every culture. In fact, some of the greatest evil is precipitated by lack of money or greed for additional money.
Our memory verse is about your attitude toward money. When your love for money becomes greed, it leads to all kinds of evil. The basic problem for most believers is that they are to realize that material possessions do not belong to them but to God. The true mission of life is set forth in the word stewardship. The Greek word is oikonomia. It simply means management of the household.
It is comforting to know that while the world suffers through the ups and downs of the stock market and economic conditions, that the child of God is a part of a different economy. We must realize that our source is God and He has a program for material possessions.  We belong to a different Kingdom and share in a different economy. There are many who have a great deal of money and yet they are miserable. God's children must understand several fundamental principles.
Our Heavenly Father has all the wealth in this world and the next. (Deuteronomy 8:8; Colossians 1:16-17)
God wants it all in circulation. There is a spirit of lavishness throughout the Word of God, and we are instructed to ''give and it shall be given to you, good measure pressed down and running over."
God provides all this for His children. He has promised to meet every material and financial need in your life.
God's instruction for your prosperity is to give. (Luke 6:38)
God promises more and much more for those who enter into His economy. The scripture teaches us to give not from our apparent resources, but from God's actual resources. This means to give not by reason but by revelation.
The key is loving the Master more than we love the money. The money is the means to an end, and is for serving and honoring the Master; otherwise, you will pierce yourself with many sorrows.
As we pray for India one more day, it is important for you to know that Hinduism is the world's third largest religious system. When you add to that the power of Islam, the B'Hai, and many other religions, you would think that the church would be alive and well in resistance. The truth is, however, that the church in India is at the same time both vital and growing, and nominal and in decline.
When you find third and fourth generation Christians in India, most of them are very nominal, but the new converts are radical and extreme in their commitment to Jesus Christ. Please pray for these Christians, as many of them know that they will probably be martyred. You could take just as many days praying for every state in India, but the need is for a radical church to win an impoverished and needy people to Christ.  Please make a commitment right now to pray for India every day of your life until God takes you home.
“I wonder why the Lord would ask for tithes from you and me, when all the treasures of the earth are his eternally.
And why should He depend on us to fill His house of meat, when we have so very little and His storehouse is replete. But He said to bring our little and He would add His much, and all the Heavenly windows would be opened at His touch."
