GOOD AND GODLY FEAR
It is said, and many people seem to live their lives constant ly in fear of something. The phobias of modem life are driving many to despair. It is truly sad to see people who live in constant fear.
There is, however, a good and Godly fear. There are some things that we need to know about this good fear. We are constantly exalted to fear God.
Fear of the Lord is thebeginningofknowledgeandwisdom.(Proverbs1:7)
Fear of the Lord is Godly fear. (Hebrews 12:28)
Fear of the Lord is righteous fear. (Psalm 33:5)
Fear of the Lord is holy fear. (II Corinthians 7:1)
Fear of the Lord is reverential fear. (Hebrews 12:28)
Fear of the Lord is to stand in awe of Him. (Psalm 33:8)
Fear of the Lord is to worship Him in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)
Fear of the Lord is to serve God, acceptably with reverence and Godly fear. (Hebrews 12:28)
Joy will come into your life because of Godly fear. The Psalmist said, “Rejoice in the Lord, O, ye righteous ...praise the Lord with the harp ...sing to Him a new song.” It is the will of God that your joy may be full. Do you have Godly fear in your life today? The fear of the Lord does not mean that you cringe before God. The Bible word for fear means reverence. It means you have a holy respect for God.
I am not an effective handyman. My wife has bought me manuals, handbooks, and sets of tools. Nothing works. Repairs always tum out better when I call the plumber or the electrician. I will never forget when I set out to install a ceiling fan. If you decide to do this, let me give you a good piece of advice. To avoid a shocking experience, do not touch the red wire to the black wire - you will regret it.
I learned that an electrician must have a fear of electricity if he is going to have longevity on the job. That doesn't mean he trembles every time he goes to work, but it does mean he knows what is in those wires, so he has a respect for that power.
That is the idea of the fear of the Lord.  There is no competition between fearing God and loving God.  The man who fears God the most loves Him the best. Fear of the Lord is love on its knees. The Bible says the fear of the Lord is good.

PRAY FOR THE WORLD
Pray today for Hope Givers International. This is a relatively new name for what has been known for years as Emmanuel Ministries in Kota, India. It has been my great joy to work with the founder of this ministry, Bro. M. A. Thomas, for many years. I consider him to be the George Mueller of our generation. He started with only faith, believing that God had led him to Kota, and now oversees a ministry that reaches throughout Asia, reaching hundreds of thousands of orphans, establishing leper colonies, building a hospital , training pastors. He is making perhaps the most profound difference for Christ in India of any single man or ministry. Dr. Thomas is in bad health in his late years, having already overcome cancer once. Pray for him and his son, Samuel, who is taking over the ministry that God will give them wisdom, integrity, and the kind of commitment that will enable them to continue to impact India for Christ.
