''But he said to them, ''Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him." (Mark 16:6)
When I visit in Israel there are many places I love to go. My favorite place to go, however, is the Garden Tomb. This is where evangelical believers point to as the burial place of Jesus.  It is a beautiful garden place and its location and many of its features indicate that this is likely the very place where Jesus was buried and from which He was resurrected. The Catholic and the Orthodox Church both have places where they believe Jesus was buried. I prefer the garden tomb, but just in case I checked at all three. Jesus was nowhere to be found. The angel was right, He is risen! He is alive!  The Resurrection if the most provable fact of history.
►The Empty Tomb - If Jesus is not alive, what happened to His body?  Don't you think the Roman authorities and the Jewish leaders would have produced the dead body if they indeed had it? If the Disciples had stolen His body, then how do we account for the fact that they all suffered and most of them died martyr's deaths? No one was ever arrested or tried for stealing the body of Jesus. If the guards had truly failed, they would have been put to death for sleeping while on watch. Incidentally, if the guards were asleep, how could they have known it was the disciples who ''stole'' the body? The first to discover the empty tomb were women, not men, as would have been the case in a made up story.  These women were afraid and had come to embalm the  body.
►Eyewitness Accounts - Not only was the tomb empty, but the Disciples and others saw Him on at least ten separate occasions.
►Changed Lives of the Apostles - Had the resurrection not occurred, the cross would have been the end of Christianity. After the death of Jesus, His disciples were dejected, discouraged and defeated. Three days later these were fearless men ready to turn their world upside down for the resurrected Savior. The only logical explanation is that they had the ''infallible proofs" that He had risen from the dead and that He was alive. They saw Him, talked with Him, touched Him and ate with Him.
►Change of the Lord's Day: For 2000 years the Hebrews held to the Sabbath doctrine. Now the day of worship moved to the first day of the week. This is a spontaneous change brought about by the resurrection.
►The Rapid Growth of Christianity and the Church -The Christian Church can be traced back to Jerusalem in A.D. 30; the time of the death and resurrection of Christ. This is when the apostles began to preach that Christ had risen from the dead. The first message delivered at Pentecost was entirely on the resurrection.
►Replacement of the Passover with Easter -Why  did  the  Christian  Jews,  who  held  the  Passover  to  be  the    most significant event in the history of the nation, abandon it in favor of Easter? Only the resurrection can explain this.
The most provable fact in all of history brings hope and joy to the hearts of believers today.
Bermuda is an island of some 65 million people and is an earthly paradise. Despite having numerous Gospel preaching churches, it is spiritually impoverished. Pray for a revival that brings lifestyles in line with Biblical knowledge. This is the world's wealthiest black majority territory, but it is spiritually impoverished, and has little mission involvement. Pray that Bermudans will make a significant impact on world evangelization. The potential is there, and our prayers can make the difference.
''The biography of Benjamin Franklin, Printer (like the cover of an old book, its contents poured out and stripped of its lettering and gilding), lies here food for worms, that the work itself shall not be lost, for it will appear once more in a new and beautiful edition, corrected and amended by the Author."
