''Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might  be  done away with,  that  we  should no longer be slaves of sin." (Romans 6:6)       ·
The greatest moment in your life is when you decided that sin must be completely killed in you. It cannot be restrained, suppressed or contradicted, but it must be crucified -just as Jesus was crucified for the world. We are now dealing with the most important matter that you as a believer can ever confront. This requires you to spend some time alone with God and make this important decision saying ''Lord, identify me with your death until I know that sin is dead in me."
Are you prepared to let the Spirit of God search you until you know what is the nature and level of sin in your life –to see the very things that struggle against God's Spirit in you? Then you must agree with God's verdict on the nature of sin - that it must be identified with the death of Jesus. You must radically deal with the issue of your will before God on this issue.
Paul finally came to this point in his walk with the Lord. ''I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself  for me."  (Galatians 2:20)
When you come to this place of recognizing that you are uniting with Him in His death you can then experience the power of His resurrection. ''For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. " (Romans 6:5) This is glorious news that I can have the resurrection life of Jesus here and now, and it will exhibit itself through holiness in my lifestyle.
What does this really mean in a practical way for you and me? It means the Holy Spirit cannot be accepted as a guest in merely one room of the house - He must invade all of it. He must take charge of everything. They asked of Dr. D.L. Moody, ''Does this man have a monopoly on the Holy Spirit." A wise man answered, ''no, but the Holy Spirit has a monopoly on Mr. Moody." The big question is, ''have I given everything to Him?'' This is the key for you to experience this co-crucifixion and co resurrection.
Most believers are looking forward to eternal life at some distant point in the future when they go to Heaven, but it is God's intent and purpose that we experience that eternal life right now. Eternal life is not a gift from God; eternal life is the gift of God. So, today at this very moment, God offers you co-crucifixion, co-resurrection and co-eternal life with His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eternal life has little to do with time. It is the life that Jesus lived when He was down here and the only source of life today is the Lord Jesus Christ. It is time for you to be willing to ''let go'' and refuse to ''hang on'' to the least bit of your own power and energy. Romans 6 is teaching us that we are dead to sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ. It is the plan and purpose of God that He has complete and effective dominion in us and over us. Thus the Christian life is no longer you seeking to live your life for Him, it is Him living His life through you. Make the decision now. Reckon yourself dead to sin, but made alive through His resurrection power.
Let us continue to pray today for needs across Europe. Great majorities of the population of most countries in Western Europe are truly post-Christian with a small and irrelevant committed Christian remnant. These areas need to be evangelized again. For example, North Germany, parts of Sweden, rural England and Wales, and much of France - many of these areas have not had much meaningful exposure to Biblical Christianity for several generations.
Noble and courageous missionaries there, for example, are penetrating the liberalism of Western Europe, to some extent. Our ministry has supported, for several years, some of the most committed Christians on the earth. They are being used of God to make a great difference in this very carnal and secular part of the world.
''Tell me, in the light of the Cross, isn't it a scandal that you and I live today as we do?''
