''But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts1:8)

The purpose for the Child of God to be on this earth is to proclaim to a human race, which is alienated from God, that they can, indeed, be a part of the Family of  God. There are three ways that a person can enter a family; birth, adoption and   marriage! No other experience in your life is as important as when you enter the Forever Family. This relationship definitely involves adoption.  We have ten grandchildren and four of then are adopted.  We really can't tell the difference. When a parent adopts a child they are saying at least four things to that child:
We have chosen you.
We have made sacrifices to receive you.
We can provide for you.
You have all the rights and privileges in this family.
God makes it clear that we are spiritually adopted. ''.. .having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will." (Ephesians 1:5) You will also see this truth in Galatians 4:5 and Romans 8:15.
You may also enter a family through marriage. When you enter the family of God, you also become a part of the Bride of Christ. The good news is the Bridegroom has accepted you into the Beloved. ''To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved." (Ephesians I:6)
Then it is also clear that you have become a part of the family of God through a new birth. Jesus made it clear to Nicodemus in John 3 that this was a spiritual birth. Have you ever wondered why Jesus used ''birth'' as an analogy for salvation?  There are several reasons.
Birth is a definite point in time! When a person comes to Christ, it is not a process, but an event.
There is ''no past'' when one is born. God does not help us turn over a new leaf. He gives us a whole new book. The new birth is not putting a new suit on the old man; it is putting a new man in the old suit.
There is ''no repeat'' with a birth. Just as a physical birth cannot be repeated the spiritual birth cannot be repeated. You are His child forever. There are no orphans in the Forever Family.
It involves agony and pain for a birth to take place. The cross brought agony and pain on God's Son. The judgment of God fell on Christ on the Cross and judgment cannot come where the judgment has already been.
The Bible is filled with truth about judgment. But I have settled out of court. I have gone to the cross.   Without question one enters the family of God at the cross.  Welcome to the Forever  Family.

Prayer is fundamental in the Kingdom of God. Through prayer we become co-workers with the Lord God Almighty. Someone said when man works, man works. When man prays, God works.  Prayerlessness is a sin and without prayer God's plan for the world cannot be achieved. Your mission's commitment and participation begins on your knees. Begin today to pray for a lost world.

''The call of the Cross, therefore, is to enter into this passion of Christ. We must have, upon us, the print of the nails."
