     Hebrews 7
''Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25)
The subject of intercession should thrill and bless every child of God. Consider our memory verse and then consider Romans 8:34 - ''Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.'' Intercession begins with Jesus Christ at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for you and me. We deserve eternal separation from God, but because God, in the flesh, has made reconciliation for us, we can trust His constant intercession on our behalf.
Intercession continues with the Spirit of God daily motivating and encouraging our on-going communion with the Father. Even when we do not know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. ''Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes  intercession  for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."   (Romans 8:26)
Then we are instructed to make intercession for others.
''Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men." (I Timothy 2:1) Do we need any more arguments than these to become intercessors?
Do you feel smothered today by stress in your life?  Do the crises that swirl around you in your home, business, country, or elsewhere, seem to crush you? Are you allowing the distractions of this world to keep you from the ministry of intercession?
If the matter of intercession is important enough for God the Son to intercede with God the Father, and for God the Spirit to make intercession for you, then it must be a priority in your life. Consider the privilege God has given you to allow you to be an intercessor for others. This means that we have the high calling of going before the throne of a sovereign God on behalf of someone else with a need. What a rare privilege and it must not be taken for granted.
Vital intercession leaves you with neither the time nor the inclination to pray  for  yourself. You do not have to struggle to keep thoughts of yourself out because they are not even there to be kept out of your thinking. You are completely and entirely identified with God's interests and concerns in other lives. God gives us discernment in the lives of others to call us to intercession for them, never so that we may find fault with them.
Is your life today in the proper place that you may participate in the intercession of our Lord and the Holy Spirit?  You will never have a higher calling than that of the intercessor. It is your opportunity to have the attention of God, to help another in need, and to actually change the course of events. Intercession is to defy what is, and to establish the very will of God in the life of another. What a privilege!
In the Republic of Rwanda in Africa, reside some 8 million people. This is the nation where Genocide caused the death of one million men, women, and children, stunning the world and traumatizing the nation. This nation has known revival in the past (1930's) and since then, many Christian have suffered much. Missionaries have now returned since the purging of 1994. The demands are enormous with a lack of national Christian workers. Pray for these missionaries and for God to raise up additional missionaries for this nation so torn by savagery, terrorism, and murder. Again, may the blood of the martyrs be the seed of a great and growing church.
